Numerical modeling of the Amphilochia intake/outlet structures

The Hydro Pumped Storage Complex in Amfilochia is the largest investment in energy storage in Greece, it aims to ensure the secure and stable energy supply in the next decades for the country. The project will combine two upper reservoirs “Pyrgos” and “Agios” with a total installed capacity of 680 MW (production) and 730 MW (pumping).

The PL-LCH has been mandated to study the general behavior of the intake/outlet structures of the project. A careful modeling of these critical structures will ensure the optimization of the design.
