Physical modeling of the Trient gorges

Within the framework of the securing of the Trient, the preliminary project and the first numerical modelling have shown that the hundred-year flood currently considered for the Trient, cannot be managed without causing overflows at the level of the crossing structures downstream of the gorges. The measures envisaged in the current project of the Trient, essentially for the maintenance of a sedimentary dynamics, do not remove the problem of a total sedimentation under the bridges, at the time of a hundred-year flood, but wish to optimize the duration, before these problems are expressed. The physical model aims at helping for a careful optimization of the problems related to the 100-year flood and in the limitation of the damage related to the management of the residual risk.
