MARIANNE BAUMGARTNER & LUCA CAMPONOVO
LECTURE RECORDED ON OCTOBER 13TH 2023
—
Luca Camponovo was born in Bern in 1980. He studied architecture at the EPF Lausanne and at the ETH Zurich from 2002 to 2008. In 2010, he traveled to Tokyo with the Erich Degen Scholarship and researched the historical urban structures of Roji. After graduating, he worked in various architecture firms in Zurich. In 2014, he founded the architecture practice Camponovo Baumgartner with Marianne Baumgartner. Together with their team, they tackle projects of different scales in Switzerland and abroad. Over the years, the studio has won prizes and competitions and acquired an extensive knowledge of building within the existing structure. What the diverse projects have in common is the demand for a site-specific and specific architecture.
In 2019, Luca Camponovo was admitted to the „Bund Schweizer Architektinnen und Architekten“ (BSA), where he has been a member of the central board since 2021.
He is also active in two city planning commissions, where he is committed to the city scape. Since 2023, he has held a visiting professorship at the EPFL with Marianne Baumgartner.
