Comparing calcined clay and viscosity modifying admixtures in the durability of cementitious materials

Viscosity modifying admixtures control the stability and cohesion of concrete with very specific rheological requirements, especially in self-compacting concrete, underwater concrete and shotcrete.

In this project, we are comparing the differences between calcined clay and viscosity modifying admixtures in the durability of cementitious materials.

In particular we are looking at:

  • chloride transport in cementitious materials
  • carbonation behaviors
  • practical application
