Mechanical behaviour of TiAl

High-Temperature Toughness of Ti-Al Intermetallics

N. Barbi, R. Goodall, F. Diologent, A. Mortensen

This project was part of the Europe-wide IMPRESS program, examining aspects of the use of TiAl-based alloys. These intermetallic alloys have several desirable properties, including high strength at elevated temperatures; our participation in the project was aimed at understanding elevated temperature deformation and fracture processes in these alloys.
