Variant selection and texture inheritance in martensitic steels
This research focuses on a martensitic transformation related phenomenon called variant selection, and on its direct industrial implication in texture inheritance effects which can introduce important anisotropy in the mechanical properties of the final product.
Variant selection in red gold alloys during phase transformation under stress
Red gold alloys with specific compositions undergo an order-disorder phase transformation which also displays features of a displacive transformation. In particular, an interesting variant selection during the transformation under stress leads to a shape memory effect.
