EPFL awards each year a distinction to a selection of very high quality theses in order to highlight the research work of doctoral students and their scientific merit. For each doctoral program the nominated graduates are selected on the basis of their oral exam. Then the program commission evaluates the nominees and rewards the best 8%.
This year Violaine Bellée was nominated with two other people of the Doctoral Program in Physic for her thesis Amplitude analysis for the measurement of the photon polarization in B to K pi pi gamma decays. This prize was announced by the General Assembly of the Institute of Physics (IPHYS) on December 14, 2020. Violaine passed the public defense of her thesis on September 11, 2020. Congratulations Violaine for this great prize. We wish you a bright future ahead!
