A social network platform for special interest groups

People tend to form communities and organisations with a shared interest in a specific area of knowledge, hobby, and profession. Examples of such formation include groups and clubs. In this project, we will develop a social network platform to support the activities of a new or an existing club.

Potential topics:

• Recommender systems: which group should a user join?
• Subscription model: membership model and sustainable strategies
• Group recommendation: what a group should do together?
• Event planner: how to organize an event of the club?
• Cross-domain data integration: integrate data across different clubs

Deliverables: datasets, models, solutions, performance results, web/mobile app

The project requires programming skills in Python, Full-stack Web technology. Competent knowledge and experience in one or many of the potential topics. Pro-active in learning and trying new things, everyday.
