Biography
Péter Vajda was born in Kaposvár, Hungary, on Oct. 12th, 1982. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, Netherlands, in July 2006 and in Program Designer Mathematician from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, in July 2007. He performed his diploma work on selection mechanisms in evolution computing and on using prediction algorithms in human-computer interaction.
Since September 2007 he is research assistant in Professor Ebrahimi’s group in Ecole Polytechnique Fédéral de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. He is currently working in multimedia security: object replica detection. He is involved in several European projects such as, Visnet II Network of Excellence, K-Space and PetaMedia. His research interests include mobile visual search, multimedia content analysis in still image and video, machine learning and pattern recognition and 3D object detection. He is also interested in artificial intelligence and graph theory. He is a student member of IEEE.
Mission
Research activities are the following:
- Object replica detection based on local features and graph matching.
- Detection of object that appear within video sequences.
- Specific object detection, such as flowers, shoes, clothes, etc.
- 3D object recognition.
- Mobile media search.
- Social network.
