Dr. Gary N. Garcia Molina was born in Sucre, Bolivia. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in 2001. His diploma work was on the application of pattern recognition techniques to speech processing. He then worked as software engineer in the design and implementation of distributed systems for multimedia content broadcasting.
In April 2001 he joint Prof. Ebrahimi’s group as a PhD student, where he was involved in several projects in image, video and biomedical signal processing. He developed an adaptive direct brain-computer communication device with strong emphasis on the models and interpretations of synchronized neural activity. He obtained his PhD degree in 2004.
