Prof. Drazen Dujic received the Istvan Nagy Award for his contribution to the “research and development of high-power electronics technologies for medium-voltage applications”. The award was presented PEMC Council, at the 21st International IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Motion Control in Pilsen, Czechia.

2024: IPEMC – ECCE Asia, Chengdu, China

The paper by Renan Pillon Barcelos, Nikolina Djekanovic, and Drazen Dujic “Static and dynamic voltage balancing for an IGCT-based resonant DC transformer” has received the First Prize Best Paper Award. The award was presented at the IPEMC – ECCE Asia conference in Chengdu, China.

2024: APEC, Long Beach, California

Dr. Andrea Cervone received the Best Presentation Award for his paper “Stability analysis of second-order harmonic active filters for input-series/output-parallel solid state transformers” at the IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition – APEC2024, Long Beach, California.

2023: IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics

The journal paper by Ignacio Polanco and Drazen Dujic, “Condition health monitoring of modular multilevel converter submodule capacitors,” in IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, vol. 37, no. 3, pp. 3544-3554, March 2022, doi: 10.1109/TPEL.2021.3118602, has received the Second Place Prize Paper Award by IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics.

2023: PCIM Europe, Nürnberg, Germany

Dr. Andrea Cervone has received an Outstanding Presentation Award for his paper “Coupling dynamics of second-order harmonic active filters in single-phase input-series/output-parallel AC-DC converters”. The award was presented at the PCIM Europe conference in Nürnberg, Germany.

2022: PCIM Asia, Shanghai, China

Dr. Chengmin Li has received the Young Engineer Award for his work and paper “Short circuit protection of SiC MOSFET module with extended short circuit withstanding time”. The award was presented at the PCIM Asia conference in Shanghai, China.

2022: PCIM Europe, Nürnberg, Germany

Ms. Nikolina Djekanovic has received the Best Paper Award for her paper “Design Optimization of a MW-level Medium Frequency Transformer”. The award, sponsored by SEMIKRON, was presented at the PCIM Europe conference in Nürnberg, Germany.

2021: SEMIKRON Young Engineer Award

Dr. Jakub Kucka received a SEMIKRON Young Engineer Award for his work on “Quasi two-level PWM operation for modular multilevel converters” during his Ph.D. studies at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany.

2020: ITEC2020, Chicago, Illinois

Mr. Seongil Kim has received the Student Paper Award for his paper “De-excitation characterisation for power supply protection in DC shipboard power systems”. The award has been presented at the 2020 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference (ITEC2020) held online (originally planned for Chicago, Illinois).

Dr. Jakub Kucka has been awarded the 2020 EPE Outstanding Young EPE Member Award. The award has been presented at EPE’20 ECCE-Europe Conference held online (originally planned for Lyon, France).

2019: EDEE Thesis Distinction

Dr. Min Luo has been awarded the EDEE Thesis Distinction by the Doctoral School in Electrical Engineering for his PhD thesis titled “Dynamic Modeling of Magnetic Components or Circuit Simulations of Power Electronic Systems”

2019: IEEJ Tokyo Section, Niigata Chapter Technical Meeting

Mr. Nicolai Hildebrandt has received the IEEE Shin-etsu Section Young Researcher Presentation Award for his paper “Parallel Operation of Multiple Single-Phase Three-Wire Inverters in Off-Grid Mode” at the IEEJ Tokyo Section, Niigata Chapter Technical Meeting in Nagaoka, Japan.

2018: EPE’18 ECCE-Europe, Riga, Latvia

Prof. Drazen Dujic has received the EPE Outstanding Service Award from the European Power Electronics and Drives Association (EPE). The award has been presented at the EPE18 ECCE-Europe Conference held in Riga, Latvia.

Mr. Min Luo received the Outstanding Presentation Award for his paper “Permeance-based modeling of magnetic hysteresis with inclusion of eddy current effect” at the IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition – APEC2018, San Antonio, Texas.
