Our laboratory relies on multiple manipulative set-ups to study the impacts of high temperature, drought, and evaporative demand experimentally. This includes polytunnels, open-top chambers (https://www.wsl.ch/en/about-wsl/instrumented-field-sites-and-laboratories/modoek-model-ecosystem-facility/), and climate chambers that allow fine control of air temperature, humidity, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration, species diversity, and soil moisture.
