This project lies in the field of pulse shaping and optical communication for future systems based on superchannel transmission. We specifically focus on the generation and shaping of narrow frequency combs, such as sinc-shaped pulses which could provide spectral efficiencies close to the theoretical limit.
We have developed a pulsed source based on the generation of flat and phase-locked frequency combs using intensity modulators. We are exploring extending this methods, both in terms of sub-system’s architecture as well as performance, and applying it to systems demonstrations.
