Postdoctoral Fellowship opportunities
Talented graduate students and postdocs are encouraged to investigate their eligibility to apply for an independent (post-)doctoral fellowship to join the Standard Candles and Distances group. Official support from EPFL and LASTRO will be required to join, that is, there is a preselection of candidatures. The below gives a few, non-exhaustive, pointers for funding possibilities in Switzerland.
Foreign talented students and postdocs may be eligible to the very competitive Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship and are encouraged to investigate whether they are eligible.
The Swiss National Science Foundation offers prestigious opportunities for independent postdocs, including the Ambizione fellowship, see here.
PhD positions
There are not currently any openings for PhD positions in the group. Please review the information on the EPFL EDPY program in case you are interested in pursuing a PhD in Physics at EPFL.
Master & Bachelor projects
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch by e-mail (Richard Anderson) to inquire about Bachelor or Master projects. Student projects are posted on the Teaching page in the menu to the left. Also have a look at the LASTRO student projects page.
Summer students
Inquiries about Summer research projects are always welcome! Please see the list of student projects for ideas. The EPFL Excellence Research Internship is a wonderful program for 3-4 month internships for top 10% undergraduate students from partner universities. Updates to the program are usually posted some time in November and application deadline is usually the first Sunday in December for a program the following Summer.
Please note that Richard Anderson will be coordinating a 4-week long workshop in Germany for most of July 2023.
