- Project description
-
This student project was born from the idea of bringing more greenery to an increasingly grey EPFL campus. The SKIL building is a suitable place with supervisors open to new ideas and state-of-the-art equipment to implement this first prototype of a green wall: Verti’SKIL.
An above-ground culture that is also located on a vertical support is the main challenge of this project because these techniques are still little known and little developed at the moment.
A green wall brings multiple benefits to its immediate environment: ecological niche, regulation of humidity and temperature through plant evapotranspiration, aesthetic added value and well-being of residents.
- In the long term
- This project could be replicated and extended more widely on campus and elsewhere.
