Projects

Guidelines

Guidelines on semester and MSc projects undertaken in the Chair of Statistics, including the marking scheme that will be used, can be found here.

Plagiarism is taken very seriously at EPFL. Below you can find links to EPFL rules governing this, and an explanatory document about university ethics, written for students at the University of New Mexico:

MSc projects abroad

MSc projects can be undertaken away from EPFL, supervised jointly by an EPFL professor and by a professor at the host university. Students who do such projects are ambassadors of EPFL and the Mathematics Section (SMA), and hence receive permission to work away from Lausanne only if they are considered by the SMA to be sufficiently capable.

If you wish to undertake a project abroad supervised by the Chair of Statistics, you should discuss this with us at least one full semester before you hope to leave.

We will consider helping you to organise this only if you have already received a mark of at least 5 for a semester project undertaken with us. If you wish to travel to an English-speaking university, this project should have been written in English.
