Project BIOPACK – Biobased food packaging
Project BIOPACK started in 2019 and involves Prof. Michaud’s Laboratory and Nestlé. Its overall objective is to create life-cycle engineered, biobased food packaging solutions to minimize environmental impact, from production all the way to after use.

The research objective of the Laboratory for Processing of Composite Materials, headed by Prof. Michaud, is to establish the scientific base for the next generation of materials.

Jan 31st: Event – Future of Farming
In January 2023 Space4Impact will kick-off the second edition of its international acceleration programme for downstream space applications bringing together space startups and strategic partners across industries. The first event on the Future of Farming will be co-hosted with the Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley.
Horizon Europe 2023-2024 Work Programmes
The European Commission has published the Horizon Europe 2023-2024 Work Programmes. Hundreds of topics are available for a total budget of €13.5 billion in 2023. Horizon Europe is open to universities, research institutes, individual researchers, start-ups and large companies.
IFNC – CIS joint event 2022
For the 2022 edition of the “Meet-the-Professors” event, the Food and Nutrition Center and the Center for Intelligent Systems had decided to join forces and invited partners from the food industry for an intensive online event on the following topic: “Applications of sensors, IoT and robotics for agri-food R&D and operations”.

March 30th: Optimizing resources
The event aims to ask the right questions about resources optimization to boost sustainability in the agrifoodtech system. Swiss and international players who have successfully taken the step of innovation will share their stories. Participants will be challenged during participatory discussions, speed-dating and exhibitions.
Future Food Initiative – Call for Proposals
In 2019, EPFL and ETH have launched Future Food Initiative together with Bühler, Givaudan and Nestlé. We are pleased to inform you that the final call for the Future Food Initiative is now open. This call is directly inviting professors at EPFL and ETH to submit project proposals.
