- A total of 9 gyrotrons (microwave sources) are ready for use on the TCV ECRH-ECCD system. There are 6 gyrotrons operating as X2 (at the second harmonic of the electron cyclotron frequency) and 3 which operate as X3 (at the third harmonic of the electron cyclotron frequency).
- Microwave power is transmitted to TCV through a transmission line (waveguide). Each gyrotron has its own transmission line.
- In the end of the transmission line a launcher is used to direct the microwave beam into the plasma.
- The TCV ECRH-ECCD system is supported by different auxiliary systems .
