CROSS research project investigators
Summary
This interdisciplinary research program aims to discern broad trends and discover novel patterns in children’s representations of gods or supernatural agents in the collection “Drawings of gods” (http://ddd.unil.ch/), which brings together children’s drawings from different cultures and religious traditions. In exploiting this resource, one main objective and challenge is to confront the computational and human analyses of the drawings and to explore if there are synergies. To achieve our aims we will develop a new form of collaboration between EPFL and UNIL: the cross-training of a humanities scholar in basic computational methodologies by a computer scientist, who in turn will be exposed to basic humanistic reasoning.
