Alpine bacteria show unexpected ability to fight viruses

EPFL

EPFL researchers found that bacterial communities in Alpine lakes, which are resistant to viruses that infect them, can reduce the infectivity of other viruses in the lab. These findings suggest potential biotechnological applications in various fields, including agriculture.

EPFL researchers identify rubber-related chemicals in Swiss milk

Research

Researchers at EPFL and the Swiss Federal Office of Food Safety have identified several rubber-related chemicals in Swiss raw milk. The study also suggests that dairy equipment may be an overlooked source of contamination.
