Architecture, as part of the ENAC faculty, operates in a trans-disciplinary environment, where architects, civil engineers and environmental engineers work together in research and education. Their mission is to find new ways to merge knowledge and action, and initiate positive transformations for our societies. EPFL Architecture consists of the Institute of Architecture (IA), the Section of Architecture (SAR) and the doctoral program Architecture et sciences de la ville (EDAR). Our community works within and at the boundaries of its disciplines to position itself in the current context of climatic and social urgency. Drawing on science, technology, theoretical and practical tools, architecture is a powerful tool for transforming this knowledge into projects and giving new perspectives to real-life scenarios.
