During their Master’s cycle, students will have to validate two blocks of compulsory optional courses (blocks 1 and 2) and one group of optional courses (Elective Branches) which they will choose according to the orientation of their Master’s studies.
Of these 55 credits of optional courses, students have to choose a civil engineering specialization or a minor. They can also make two civil engineering specializations.
Under certain conditions, some courses outside of the field of Civil Engineering may be taken, e.g. courses of other EPFL sections, courses of the University of Lausanne or courses of an equivalent institution. Registration for a course outside of Civil Engineering needs to be first accepted by the Section of Civil engineering.
