An emergency standby service is available for certain equipment connected to the centralized alarm system, or for urgent and problematic situations occurring during the night or on weekends. All information is available in our “Emergency Standby Service” section.
An emergency standby service is available for certain equipment connected to the alarm system. There is a centralized alarm system for unit-specific refrigerators and freezers, which is run by the VPO. When the system detects too much temperature variation on the connected equipment, an SMS is sent to the cell phone of the contact persons in the laboratory. The “Mechanical constructions” section contains information about mechanical constructions and specific work that can be executed on equipment. In case of need, do not hesitate to contact the SV Workshop or directly the mechanic technician, Mr. Samuel Gex.
Lead time will depend on the type of construction, its complexity, the volume of requests and whether it can be done in-house or needs to be sent to the STI School workshops. The SV Workshop staff or Mr. Samuel Gex will be able to answer more precisely once all the information is known.

The purchase of standard laboratory and office furniture is paid for by the School and is not charged to the units. All requests for specific furniture are the responsibility of the laboratories. For more information, please contact the Workshop through the Service Now form.
Users can have access to storage places at -80°C (freezers) and -170°C (liquid nitrogen).
The workshop keeps an updated record of all cryo storage spaces allocated to each unit. to request some storage please contact the Workshop through the Service Now form.
Units may store BSL1 samples properly packed and placed in specific boxes of dimensions 133x133x45mm. For more information, please contact the Workshop through the ServiceNow form. In case of doubt about the security level of the samples to be stored, please contact the biosafety correspondent of the SV School.
There is no time limit on sample storage. However, in order to optimize storage space, users are asked to sort regularly and dispose of any expired or unused products.
